Here was Albert Engström born!

A beautifully situated village approximately one kilometre from the church of Lönneberga. One of Sweden's most famous cartoonists and authors, Albert Engström was born here. In 1969 we celebrated the 100-year remembrance of Engström's birth. A stone was put up outside his home of birth.

Albert Engström, a unique personality in Swedish history was born in 1869, in Bäckfall, Lönneberga. Regarded as a great author and one of the leading humorous cartoonists. A professor in drawing and a member of "Konstakademin", the Art Academy and also a fellow member of "Svenska Akademin", the Swedish Academy. A rare combination in Swedish cultural life. He died in 1940. His childhood home is set in a rich agriculture area of great beauty.
