Lönneberga Church

The church was built in 1868-72 and is unusual with its sanctuary in the west and the entry towards east. The present church of Lönneberga has several forerunners. There is still a crucifix saved from the oldest known church, located on the same spot in the 14th century. From the old church that stood here between 1600-1870s, remains a bridal chair made of oak, oil paintings and a candle arm.

The paintings and the candle arm was donated by Major Lars Weidenhielm who died an old man in 1709. His wife Christina Klint was the owner of the farm "Saxemåla" in Lönneberga. In the church you can see the armour shields from the family Weidenhielm. In the graveyard you will find several grave crucifixes made out of wood, typical of this region.
